Prompt 1: Everyday Life

[A nondescript man pats down his pockets, frowns, and then heads your way with purpose.]

So . . . Don't suppose I could get a smoke off of you?

Prompt 2: I Can't Believe It's Not Thusia

[Your character has died! And then . . . woken up in some cold stone room full of weird shrines??? Plus some strange dude is sitting next to you, puffing lightly on a cigarette.]

Oh, you're awake? Then welcome back to the land of the living. Or to the land of the re-living. Still not sure how the terminology works there.

Prompt 3: You Make Up A Scenario

[You make up a scenario.]

[congratulations, you've approached a teenaged girl. Or . . . what looks like a teenaged girl. If he's able to see past that, then it's actually more of a "form" she's taken then anything, to hide her true form.

There's a polite response on her lips before she actually looks at him, and the words die on her lips before she manages anything. Her expression changes from politely surprised at being addressed to suddenly serious]

. . . it's a habit I could never get into, so no. I don't have any.

[Anyway, nondescript man watches her reactions and then huffs an irritated sigh.]

Kids these days are too straight-laced . . .

[ The man he approaches doesn't appear particularly interested in conversing with him, as he flips through a magazine, making critical noises here and there at the trash that passes for reading nowadays. He's dressed in a fine black business suit, with a dark red tie that would match his eyes, were they not skillfully hidden behind a tinted pair of reading glasses, which turns them to a darker brown instead. True to form, he also sports a pair of black gloves that look as though they were just purchased (maybe a few decades ago). The silver chain of a pocket watch also peeks out of the corner of his suit pocket.

To a human, he would hardly seem out of the ordinary. But to someone like Barakiel, there might be a sense of more than meets the eye. Especially the slight scent of fresh fire about him, a muted version of what one would find around a fireplace. ]

[yeah Barakiel can totes sense that he's a demon. a fire demon. wonderful.

otoh Barakiel really wants a smoke. NEEDS MUST.]

[ Takes his time in turning, clearly annoyed at being pulled away from his mental shredding of the periodicals. ]

[since you are a demon! your ~infernal sight~ will be able to see that this nondescript man in fact has a lot of weird magic circles and sigils on his bare skin; they cover his bare hands and forearms (where his sleeves have been rolled up) and seem to continue up his arms and peek up around his neck over the collar of his shirt. His face is free, the rest of his body is covered in clothes.]

What makes you think I would indulge the request of one of theirs? Particularly one with such recognizable markings.

He doesn't sit up, but he does lift a hand to rub at his face]

One would think the latter would make me undead, rather than alive again. And I hear those sorts are a bit of a nasty bunch.

[he finally sits up and runs a hand through his hair] And what world is this, pray tell?

Given the response until now I wasn't sure I'd actually meet someone who had any on them . . .

I guess it's hard to find someone who wants to take their life in their hands like that.

[He was selecting tangerines at a fruit stand. One can never buy enough tangerines, or so he believes. Naturally, the man so nonchalantly heading in his direction is enough to make his heart leap in his chest. And the talk about smoke feels almost like a veiled accusation, doesn't it? Why, he didn't burn anything this time!

It takes him a few more seconds, and some gratuitous tangerine squeezing, to realize what the nondescript man actually wants from him.]

I do not smoke, sir.

assume he is in whatever Kevin is from and is wearing a very messy version of whatever is typical clothing for men :V]

[Seriously, Kevin didn't sound defensive at all. Also, his eyes clearly say: "Why are you wearing a corpse? You are a bloody abomination!" Mister Corpse also needs a better maid, or any maid, which doesn't improve Kevin's opinion on his fellow... something.

He pays for the tangerines, tucks them all in a wicker basket and brings them very close to his chest, lest they get infected by unsanitary worms of death. ]

[Barakiel is admittedly somewhat startled by this reaction because you're an angel aren't you...? Shouldn't you be used to the sight of this corpse-wearing and such?]

Then could I prevail upon your charity and ask for a bit of money so I can buy some cigarettes for myself?

[He is more used to the sight of living people-wearing, see. Corpse-wearing is something a demon would do.]

You ought to be careful about such habits.

...Are you unemployed?

[It is not like mendicancy is unheard of among angels. However, it is usually a ruse to test a human's virtue, and the stranger really sounds like he means it.]
